Unpopular opinion: a community of 200 people who meet offline regularly is more valuable than 20,000 members on Discord who never interact.
I know this isn’t sexy in the age of growth hacking. I know big numbers look better on pitch decks.
But after 15 years, I have never seen a single large community survive long-term without a small group of people who once sat in the same room together.
Community is not a metric. Community is shared memory.
And shared memory doesn’t form inside a notification panel.
Agree or disagree? I genuinely want to know what you think.
